I really don’t want to end up writing long form political posts all the time. In fact, I deeply resent having to spend so much time following politics, at all. I dream of an America with a boring, boring Politics. But, in this era of the ‘Industrial Disinformation Complex’, one kind of has to become obsessive (or at least overly conscious) to have any hope of knowing much of anything.
I will say this for myself: I did see this coming years ago, though at the time I thought the GOP’s fascism was going to come directly through a Catholic convert like Gingrich. What I didn’t see until it happened was that this strain of fascist Catholicism would be so willing to merge with Trumpism. (The Opus Dei types are apparently quite happy to work behind the scenes, and on the bench). The remnants of the KKK jumped on board in 2016, and so… here we are. Trumpism, version 2024.
And no, zero respect here. This is beyond mere politics. Trumpists are stupid. They are fascist. And they are, quite literally, a serious domestic threat to the Republic.
And if you doubt that claim, please consider this: Next time you read or hear someone say that they “wish to deconstruct the administrative State”, take a quick read of the US Constitution. Try to identify which parts of the USC aren’t dedicated to defining “the administrative State”…
…you can’t. There aren’t any. Their aim is to overthrow our government. And they come not to Govern, but to Rule.
Vote accordingly.
