After only a decade or so of AGI Hooplah, they’ve apparently run out of training data to steal. So they started feeding it artificially/statistically filtered (or generated) datasets, snipped from the general internet, instead.
Hilarity ensues. Machines ended up training on mostly machine-generated content (since that’s the majority of the random stream, these days). The machines eventually drive each other mad (literally!) with hallucinations.
In other words, they gave AGI its own social media. And it appears to have had much the same effect as is did on humans. Took them less than 10 years to get there!
